Social & Emotional Development
Children in the early preschool years require focus on building their self-esteem, identity and self-confidence to help them explore and understand the world around them. At the Academy, the Early Pre K Class does this through the use of a daily schedule and activity routines that allow for the child to safely explore their world with the guidance of their teachers and companionship of their social peers.
Throughout the year students are provided with new opportunities to express themselves individually and with the group to help build their awareness of themselves understanding of their place in the world around them.
Intellectual Development
The Academy introduces our early learners to their first steps in academic learning including identification of colors, shapes, language development and foundations to writing with a variety of fun and interest-provoking teaching techniques. Children participate in our International Language & Culture program with exposure to foreign languages and introduction to other cultures at a basic level.
Students in the Early PreK Class learn how to learn, an important skill that will help with their future academic goals. Emphasis is placed on the discovery of new ideas and positive encouragement toward exploration of the child's world.
Physical Development
Development of gross and fine motor skills in encouraged in the Early Pre K classroom with our indoor learning centers, outdoor play area and through our Physical Education program. Children are provided with a wide array of games and activities to help develop their motor skills, while simultaneously working to nurture their social and intellectual growth. The program is individualized to meet the needs of all students, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate in all activities.
