Social & Emotional Development
Pre-K students at the Academy learn the importance and skills of group cooperation in an environment that builds self-esteem, confidence and respect for others. They also focus on language literacy and self-expression, including activities and tasks that help with the development and recognition of their own identity.
Intellectual Development
The Academy's Pre-K class begins a child's journey into the world of academics by introducing upper and lower case letters, numbers and basic writing skills. Every skill is introduced and practiced with activities and games that support the 'whole child' philosophy of the school.
Students are also introduced to the concept of problem solving across all areas of learning, from math and science, to storytelling and art.
Physical Development
Development of gross and fine motor skills in encouraged in the Pre-K classroom with our indoor learning centers, outdoor play area and through our Physical Education program. Children are provided with a wide array of games and activities to help develop their motor skills, while simultaneously working to nurture their social and intellectual growth. The program is individualized to meet the needs of all students, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate in all activities.
